Scientific attitude is the most important outcome of Science Teaching. Scientific attitudes are predispositions (tendency, inclination, mental set or habit of mind) to think and act in a certain way. It can be just a ‘mind set’ in a particular direction or it can be a way of life.  As science teachers there is a great responsibility in us to develop scientific attitude among students.  And the assignment I received is about developing scientific temper in students. In my assignment I have discussed my view points on developing scientific attitude in students as a science teacher.                                      How to develop scientific attitude in students

 25/01/2022 Today  our 1st hour was taken by Maya ma'am. The classes are still continuing in 2 batches. We learnt about IDEALISM of schools of psychology.  After that we had optional class. In the afternoon session we had Joju Sir's class. Sir gave 27 important points about the Effectiveness Indicators of a Class.  Be pleasant Mastery learning Proper eye contact Connect with life etc.  After the class we gave a small farewell to our dearest teachers who came for internship from Thycadu. Maya Ma'am, Joju Sir and one among us gave our feedbacks and wished them all success in life.

 24/01/2022 The short term online classes has ended finally  and today the offline session restated. After 7  days of online classes, when we reached college, we were divided into two batches, three optionals each.  First hour Ancy ma'am taught us about  Early Childhood in Stages of development .  Then we had our optionals.   In the afternoon session , Joju sir taught us about   AUDIO VISUAL AIDS. 

 21/01/2022 Today the class started at 11 am. First hour was Health and Physical Education. George Sir taught us how to prepare a  HEALTH CHART.  Then we had our optional hour by Neena ma'am. Followed by it we had a session by Benedict sir where he taught us about phases of teaching and the basic teaching model.

 19/01/2022 T oday first hour was technology handled by Revathi ma'am. She taught us about PODCASTING, m- LEARNING, WEB BASED LEARNING.  The class was very interactive and active.  T hen we had a class on NATIONAL INTEGRATION by  Shabana Ma'am. We learnt the meaning of national integration, obstacles to national integration and suggestions for educational program for national integration. Maya ma'am started the class by giving an introduction to National integration and various factors influencing the integrity of people in a nation. Then Shabana teacher continued the session by explaining about definition, Obstacles, factors etc. in national integration and how education can be used to strengthen national integration.  Last hour we had Philosophy class on ERICKSON'S THEORY OF PSYCHO SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT. We learnt about the last four stages in this theory.  STAGE 5 : Identity Vs Role Confusion STAGE 6 : Intimacy Vs Isolation STAGE 7 : Generativity Vs Stagnation STAGE 8

 18/01/2022 Todays first hour was psychology . Sathyalekha Ma'am taught us about 'ERICKSON'S THEORY OF PSYCHO SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT' and four different stages of development: Trust Vs Mistrust, Autonomy Vs Shame and Doubt, Initiative Vs Guilt, Industry Vs Inferiority.  Next we had our optionals where Neena ma'am explained about Lecture cum demonstration method. The main purposes of this method is ; To convey information To generate understanding To stimulate interest Teacher explained a quote which made us think. The quote of Confucius.    "I see and I forget            I see and I remember               I do and I understand" Then teacher shared  a video and explained it with the demonstration method. The last hour ended with Dona ma'am class. Teacher taught us about Emotional intelligence. The four steps are  Self awareness  Self management Social awareness Relationship management

 17\01\2022 Another day of online classes begins here. Today first hour was by  Maya Ma'am. She taught us  PHILOSOPHY,  FIELDS OF PHILOSOPHY,  AREAS OR PROBLEMS OF PHILOSOPHY - METAPHYSICS, EPISTEMOLOGY, AXIOLOGY.     Next session was taken by Revathy ma'am. She taught us about computer stimulation, blended learning etc. Then Joju sir talked about online assignment and seminar presentation.        Last session was handled by Dona ma'am, where she about the qualities of a science Teacher. She gave space for us to convey our view points.

  15/01/2022 Being the second day of our online class, it started with prayer song by Fr. Sujith. The first hour was taken by Satyalekha teacher on effective classroom communication. The class was supervised by Ancy ma'am.  The second hour was handled by Gibi ma'am. She introduced us to a new therapy- Mm-hmm therapy which was really interesting. Teacher then taught us about 'learning method' in Scope of educational psychology. Then described us about how id, ego and super ego controls our mind. Then the third session was taken by Revathy teacher. Teacher taught us about Interdependence of teaching and learning and learning environment. It was an interesting interactive session.

 13/01/2022 Third incoming wave of covid has again brought us back to online classes. Now the interactions are through google classrooms and google meet. In online mode we have three hours of classes.    First session was taken by Dona teacher. She taught us 'INTELLIGENCE TESTS' and 'WECHSLER SCALE'.  Next we had our optional class. Revathy teacher handled the session . Teacher explained about Sustainable development. "Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."   Third hour was by shabana teacher. She taught us the life history of Dr S Radhakrishnan and then explained his views in the meaning and aims of education.  Todays online class ended well.

  12/01/2022 A brave, frank, clean- hearted, courageous and aspiring YOUTH is the only foundation on which the future NATION can be built. Today we had our first assembly of 2022 led by Natural Science optional.  It was a good assembly. It started with college anthem followed by prayer song, pledge, news, MTTC news, importance of the week and the day, thought for the day. Natural Science association 2021-23 , HORUS was inaugurated by Gibi teacher in the absence of our principal. I really liked their logo and its symbolic representations. They also donated books to the library. The assembly ended with the National Anthem.  The first session was our optional Physical Science. Dona ma'am discussed about the different branches of science including Nanotechnology, Bio- informatics,  Geo- informatics . Shabana ma'am taught us "Role of education & importance of society in education " We conducted a group discussion. Some students came forward and shared their ideas a

  11\01\2022 T oday morning everyone was speaking about strike. But no strikes affected today's class. Morning  section was started by Dona ma'am and she explained  Guilfords model of intelligence. Then Dona ma'am discussed about the development of science in our optional class.  Then we had an interesting session by Revathy ma'am. She discussed the contributions of famous scientists and gave us a puzzle to fill in groups. After the lunch break first hour was taken by Sathyalekha ma'am. She discussed the barriers of communication.      Next hour Revathy ma'am discussed the topic computer mediated communication.  She also gave us a group activity to differentiate CAI,CMI and CMC.

  10\01\2022 Today seemed extra special as today we received gifts from our Christmas friend😇. Classes began as usual. First hour we had optionals taken by Dona ma'am. She discussed on the topic evolution, where she discussed on inventions of the stone age, bronze age and other stages of development.    Later Neena ma'am made us to discuss on scientific inventions on different ages. It was an interesting group session. I was grouped with Mimina and we were asked to write on major discoveries of stone age. Then the next hour was taken by Revathy ma'am. She discussed on the topic computer managed instruction and its characteristics. The terms she taught was new and informative.  At lunch break on behalf of our class teacher we exchanged gifts to our Christmas friends. My friend was Sreelekshmi chechi . I was so delighted to get her as my Christmas friend. And I received gifts from my dear friend Maneesha. The next session was handled by Sathyalekha teacher. She discussed on

    07/01/2022 Today's first hour began with the optional classes. We had Dona ma'am and she taught us about scientific method and the steps of scientific method. It includes different steps like finding a question then researching, formulating a hypothesis and testing of hypothesis. Analyzing , concluding and sharing of results. Then Neena ma'am further explained on scientific attitude, literacy etc. Next is my  favorite session - the arts class conducted by Reju sir. He gave a very interesting class on art and theater couldn't tell how time fly by. Many interesting games were also played of which I liked PAZHAM,PAPPADAM,CHAI game. Afternoon session M.Ed interns took classes on Spearman's two factor theory, child centered and life centered education and about secularism and education.                                          

                                TAKE TIME TO MAKE YOUR SOUL HAPPY 06/01/22 Today began with yoga class.  Yoga is a great practice for both the body and the mind, it offers peace and mindfulness to its lovers and helps them get through daily stress .                         Then the next hour was handled by our MEd  intern, Revathy miss and she taught us  computer assisted instructions (CAI) .   "  Computer assisted instruction is an instructional technique whereby a computer is used to present in instructional material and monitor the learning that takes place. "   The next two hours were optional. The optional hour was also taken  by Revathy Ma'm where we discussed about values of science including Intellectual values, Utilitarian values, Vocational values, Aesthetic values , Cultural values and Recreational values . Then Neena ma'am concluded the topic. The next hours was handled by Dona Ma'am. Ma'am explained about intelligence , types of intelligence etc.

04\01\2022 Today started with Maya teacher's class. There I got a new term ' Paradigm Shift  '.  It is a change from one way of thinking to another, and it's a revolution, it's a transformation. Good teaching is a skillful blend of artistic and scientific elements. There was a small entertainment session where we sang song along with our talented singers. Welcoming M.Ed interns to our MTTC family Our principal  introd uced and welcom ed the MEd students of Department of Teacher Education, thycaud for their 2 week  internship at MTTC .  The next hour was handled by Gibi Ma'am. Ma'am taught us about the materials of learning and maxims of teaching.       Then  in optional hour Neena Ma'am introduced 2 MEd interns of physical science optional. Then we interacted with them.                                    Then we had Ancy miss class where she taught about the stages of life.

           Keep the smile, forget the tears, love the good, throw away the bad.       Happy New Year! 03\01\2022   Today marks a new beginning at college in this new year. I felt so happy to see all my friends after the Christmas holidays. First two hours we had optionals by Neena miss where we discussed about science - deductive & inductive methods, scientific attitudes, myths etc...                                           Then we had Joju sir's class which began with a beautiful new year message. Afternoon section was handled by Maya teacher where we discussed teacher competency.  Competency  is the standardized requirement for an individual to properly perform specific job.                                                                    Before leaving the campus we watered the vegetable garden.     To get a better yield it is necessary to nurture the plants and water them. So plant more trees .
